Disk Defragmenter

I am puzzled, i like to defrag my disks every wednesday so i click on defrag to see if it starts at the time i have it set to but it dosent turn on, so i do it manualy, it takes about 30min to defrag, i have all the settings right.,dont know why Any of you folks know why? THX
