I have had my new computer running vista ultimate for six months now, absolutly no problems until now, all of a sudden it has decided that it cannot see my network, now I know my my round vista a little bit and I found out that it has switched off the network discovery in the network and sharing center, the only problem is that it will not under any curcumstances let me turn it back on again, you click the button to turn on network discovery click apply and hey presto it just dos'nt do a thing, this also applies to the public folder sharing, Printer sharing. The password protected sharing and media sharing buttons work just fine, I tried restoring back over a week, but to no avail, the computer is connecting to the internet OK and I do have A 360 gb personnal media harddrive (HP Media center computer) that for some unknown reason the other computers on the network can access so I can move files about the network using this drive which makes it abit of a longwinded affair. If anybody out there has any ideas I would be very grateful, the only other thing I can think of is reloading windows afresh. regards Don

I had a simular problem, and no matter what i did the other computers could not be seen. In the end I re-named my network, following all the rebooting on all my PCs, and it worked!
