htmlblock.co.uk: Check your RAM voltage and timings. Some stock motherboard settings don't take full advantage of the sticks. For example, my Corsair XMS2's scored 5.4 or so before I bumped them to 2.1v (mfr suggested voltage) at  4-4-4-12 timing. Now, they rock!

I installed vista in my old system (dual boot - still use win 2k as my main os ) to 'have a play' before I built a new system.

I was quite surprised by the score since it's not suppose to run on my old nforce2  A7n8x motherboard - but where there is a will there is a way:)

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 3200 - 3.7

Memory:1.00GB - 4.5

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 6600GT - 5.3

Gaming graphics: 367MB Total available graphics memory - 4.6 

Primary Hard disk: 46GB Free of 63GB Total - 5.2 

 

I was very surprised that the gfx card got such a high score since its a mid range from 2 generations ago

my WEI score is 4.2

I am using a Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT.

It's a dual tuner freeview and after a brief hiccup when I upgraded to Vista and the drivers weren't installed I have had not problems at all.  I know quality depends on aerial and reception but it is excellent.

One thing to bear in mind - it is a PCI Express  card

I bought mine like this so hoping to upgrade soon.

 Well, there you are. Gaming will be kept for my sons xBox 360, when I get the chance.

My score is 2.4, they say it is because of my graphics card which is NVidia GeForce Go 6150.

My memory is PC8500, seems a pretty low ranking considering. As for the hard drives, RAID 5 on some cheap spinpoints set to quiet mode - this seems pretty high. Believe the balance between scores and ratings could do with a little tweak.    More details about my computer
