I bought new Vaio with Home Premium installed, really like it.Just waiting to update my other laptop from XP Professional to Ultimate when I am more certain "bugs" have been sorted

It's Business on my laptop. 

Didn't find any of the extra features in Ultimate exciting enough to warrant the extra spend.  Am very happy with Business, and have a TV Card which works well with Vista.

I guess Ultimate (which I understand has Media Center as well) makes sense for a desktop.

I think you should also be asking whether it is 32 or 64 bit.   It would appear it makes a vast difference.

 I have 64 bit vista ultimate oem version and consequently I am experiencing quite a few problems. 

 Zone Alarm, Line One Care, Roxio 7, Big Fish Games, Norton Ghost 9, TV Tuner Card to name but a few.  Some of the applications specifically state that they are not compatible with 64 bit edition.

 Real Arcade will run MOST games PROVIDED you run the program as an administrator.  Also my Tevion DVB-T

Take care as vista does not work very well on 64 bit.  I have Ultimate 64 and am having a LOT of problems. 

 Many apps are not supported on 64 bit i.e. zonealarm, norton ghost 9, roxio 7, dvb-t 100 tevion tv tuner, big fish games to name but a few.

 I have had more blue screens in 6 weeks since having vista than i had with xp for many years.

Hi mixed here XP pro on main pc vista home premium on new laptop and love it, Now waiting to upgrade main pc but not know some of its not compatible so it will have to wait a bit
